About Michigan ECOsystem
The Michigan ECOsystem is a digital community built to connect environmental advocates from across the Mitten, bridging physical distance as we work collaboratively to combat critical issues that threaten the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the places we love.
Networking & collaboration
The name "ECOsystem" has dual purpose. First, it is derived from "Environmental and Conservation Organizations," the way that our work is most commonly categorized to the outside world. Second, it reflects our diverse and connected movement, which has the potential to shape lasting and meaningful impact when we stand together. Our community is comprised of environmental advocates specializing in every area of work: science and research, policymaking, education and storytelling, organizing, and more. Our goal is simple - give you a platform to connect with one another so we can:
- Influence policymaking to prioritize our environment and communities
- Amplify the diverse, powerful work that each of our organization leads
- Creatively problem solve by sharing tools, frustrations, opportunities, and resources

The Michigan ECOsystem is led by the Michigan Environmental Council. We represent nearly 100 environment and conservation organizations from across the state, and champion lasting protections through expert policy work. In our community, you'll have access to real-time updates straight from Lansing on issues ranging from Climate & Energy, to Water, to Health & Justice, Transportation, and more. Even better, you can connect directly with our team of leading policy experts to ask questions, share your own insights, and let us know what things our top priority for your team.

With nearly 1,000 ECOs statewide, it's hard to keep track of upcoming events, news, and needs. Our community is a central place for sharing the latest toolkits, events, stories, grants/ fundraising opportunities, webinars, and more.
